“Gartner (an industry analyst firm that covers the technology market) estimates that less than half of all midsize businesses and only 25 percent of small businesses have disaster recovery plans in place.”

Why JetSet Hosting?

We are experts in designing, configuring, and implementing backup strategies for businesses. It's all we do — not a sideline, and we've been doing it successfully since 1996. JetSet offers the latest in backup technology while emphasizing responsiveness to our clients and their concerns.

I see lots of "cheap" backup services that offer unlimited storage for $9.99/month. Why shouldn't I go with them?

Many low-end, "cheap," services are designed to backup workstations (not servers) and have limited, if any, support.  One hundred percent (100%) of our clients are businesses that rely on their data and can't afford to take chances. Our service is enterprise-level and includes free expert support. We have numerous clients who have tried the "cheap" services, then switch to us after experiencing problems either backing up or restoring their data. We invite you to call us and compare our level of knowledge to our competitors.

Where is JetSet Hosting located?

We have THREE data centers located in the United States. Data is mirrored between our facility in Miami, FL and our facility in Atlanta, GA. Our staff all live in the U.S. and speak English as their native language.

Is an on-site appliance available for faster backups/restores?

Yes, we have an on-site appliance available at any service level. It is normally used by our clients with 250+ GB data to protect, but can be added at any level. This on-site appliance provides instant backups and restores.

How is JetSet different from other backup services?

In a word — service. We have the people, the tools, the know-how, and the desire to get your data back when you need it. We assign each client a technician and an account manager. If you have a problem, you'll know who to call — no waiting in queues! Our clients tell us our approach to service is what really makes JetSet unique.

Tell me about your expert support.

The increasing complexity of operating systems and the integration of operating systems with application software makes restoring data challenging to even computer-savvy people. Our backup specialists deal with issues like Active Directory, Exchange, network configurations, peripherals, SQL Server, Boot.ini, System State, Netware NDS and Linux Kernel on a daily basis. When you need to restore, you'll appreciate the depth of their knowledge and experience.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. We don't require contracts, but we discount our price for contract clients. We offer a one, two, and three year service agreement, with the lowest prices for the longer terms. Our standard 36-month service agreement offers the best pricing. The two-year agreement is an additional 5%, and the one year agreement is an additional 10%. Month-to-month pricing is the highest — 15% higher than our standard service agreement.

How much does it cost?

Our service starts at $89/month for a quota of 10 GB. There are many variables in the provision of backup service. You shouldn't pay for "extras" that you may not need. Our account managers can help you determine the best value for your backup requirements.

What factors affect cost?

On volumes below 250 GB, cost is based on the native (uncompressed) volume of data you choose to back up and the number of backups retained in our vaults. Over 250 GB, a number of optional variables such as on-site vaults affect price.

How does the reliability compare with that of tape backups?

No comparison. Our backup service is much more reliable than most tape backups. We have MANY clients who have run our service for years without ever changing their configuration and without ever missing a backup. A major risk of tape systems is that even when all indicators point to successful backups, the restores fail. Secondly, most companies using tape systems don't employ a secondary fail-safe system. Our system has redundancy built in.

Can I still use my tape system?

Yes. Many of our clients continue to run their tape backups, but no longer transport their tapes off site. Redundancy is the key to data security, so you can never have too many backups.

Does it work if our company has a firewall?

Absolutely. Our specialists will provide you with the required proprietary firewall port information. In most situations, firewall changes are NOT required.

I have mirrored/RAID hard drives. Won't that protect me from viruses or data loss?

No. Mirrored hardware only protects you from a hardware failure. Since 90% of data loss is due to data corruption or user error, mirrored equipment offers no protection. This is because corrupt data gets instantly written to the mirror equipment. The only way to protect your data is by having a backlog of backups to restore from.
